Students, faculty, and members of the Lincoln community gathered today to remember the young teens who’ve taken their lives due harassment because of their sexual orientation. The message was clear, “It gets better.”
Speakers including Dr. Juan N. Franco, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and ASUN Student government President, Justin Solomon, were there to offer words of encouragement and hope.

Students gather to take a video, chanting “It gets better.” The movement was started to communicate to the young people in LGBTQA community. Videos from across the country are surfacing, encouraging people to hold on to hope.

All that could be heard was the crack of glow sticks, when they were lit in memoriam to those who’ve taken their lives.

NewsNetNebraska will have more on the story, as we will follow one young mans struggles from suicide to smiles.
