Sarah Morris isn’t content with routine.
That’s one reason she’s so taken with travel. The senior from Omaha has taken trips to Spain, Italy, Greece and France, with travels to Russia and Spain hopefully on her horizon.
“It’s like an adventure,” she said. “I just like being so far away from home and out of my comfort zone.”
That attitude may have helped Morris find her calling. A graduate of Omaha Duchesne, Morris began her collegiate career at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as a news-editorial major and worked for the school’s newspaper, the Daily Nebraskan. It appeared her future was in journalism.
But then Morris, 21, added an advertising major and applied for an internship at Thought District, an advertising agency in downtown Lincoln. She’s been there since May, mostly doing research. But she recently acquired a client, Access, a business real estate company.
Although she got into advertising to satisfy her creative side, Morris believes the internship may have helped steer her in a new career path.
“I’ve always wanted to work with clients,” she said. “I just never understood that there was more to it.”
