Gilles Basset, an assistant professor of agronomy and horticulture, won the 2011-2012 Junior Faculty for Excellence in Research Award from the Branham Endowment Fund, presented by the Agricultural Research Division. Basset is known as an expert on vitamin K and has investigated how to engineer plants to enhance vitamin K for a human nutrient.
