Julia Peterson: Passion for copywriting
After taking only one advertising class, Julia Peterson knew she had a passion for copywriting.
“We had a guest speaker come speak to us, and I didn’t think I would ever be interested in advertising,” she said. “But when this guy spoke, it just hit me immediately – like that’s what I’m supposed to do.”
Julia, a Lincoln native, graduated from Lincoln Southwest High School, and is now a senior studying news-editorial, advertising and public relations in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She will graduate in May 2014.
Throughout her university career, Julia has worked for several organizations, including United Way, TEAM NFL, Talent Plus, the Daily Nebraskan and the UNL’s Education Abroad Department.
“Each internship that I had was kind of like a breakthrough, leading me to where I was actually supposed to work,” she said. “It just kind of lead me to advertising.”
In her spare time, Julia likes to read and write.
